Douglas Intermediate School

Students from Mr. Zechiel's 5th grade class attended a two day interactive learning session at WYTEC's training school located at the EWC extension office in Douglas. The two day activities covered the solar system. Students used The Sky and Stary Night Pro planetarium software programs to take a simulated tour of the solar system. NASA multimedia materials were also used to provide information about the sun and planets. Students were also given an overview of some of JPL's interplanetary missions. The weather was excellent on the second day and provided the students with an excellent opportunity to view the sun in both Hydrogen-Alpha and white light filters.
